Die for the Lich began to take shape the moment we first played Slay the Spire, Dicey Dungeons and Darkest Dungeon. We didn’t realize it at the time, but those games planted the seeds of a vision that would eventually grow into something uniquely ours, a game rooted in strategy, shaped by dice, and soaked in darkness.
Roll dice and magical trinkets and pair them with weapons to battle legendary monsters. Master the art of chance in a journey where every roll counts. Unlock new gear by completing grueling challenges and prepare for the final battle against the King of the Undead, the Lich!
Dice Deck Builder: Carefully collect dice and trinkets that complement your fighting style.
Dice: Regular dice are not enough, from dice that roll the best outcome all the way to dice that can predict the roll of other dice, your options are endlessly game-changing.
Trinkets: When dice are not enough, use trinkets to shift the outcome, from simply re-rolling a die to creating an army of ghost dice, you'd never run out of ways to manipulate the outcome of a battle!
Weapons: Each weapon has its own rules and risks, turning every attack into a unique puzzle of precision and luck.
Playable Characters: Every adventurer adds new abilities, no two journeys play the same.
Player Abilities: Level up, select unique abilities, and elevate your strategy.
Monsters: Before facing the Lich, battle classic folklore creatures such as the Strigoi, Vetala and many more!
Dynamic Journey: You will die many times, but every attempt will be unique.
Meta Progression: Complete challenges to earn new gear and keep every new run feeling fresh.
We wanted to make a short game for Halloween and we end up making Die for the Lich, but it was much worse.
We believed in the project and we didn't commit to half ideas and kept changing core mechanics until we got this hybrid of a game. Now we have a unique gameplay and visual style that we're truly proud of and we're happy that it brought you here.
